📍 Where to start: Zurich
Zurich is the pickup point — best airport access, and it puts Rhine Falls only 40 minutes up the road as your first stop before heading southeast. Picking up your rental at the airport rather than downtown is usually cheaper and has a wider fleet.

Best tip: park once at your hotel and use the free local Guest Card to get around from there — don't move the car again until the next travel day. A Swiss motorway vignette (CHF 40, valid the full calendar year) is mandatory on this route.

- 💳 Which pass to buy: none of the national rail passes — you're driving door to door. The only ticket that's mandatory is the CHF 40 motorway vignette; ask your St. Moritz host if their Guest Card covers a Corvatsch discount before paying full price.
- 🅿️ The one rule that saves the most hassle: park once, use the Guest Card. Moving the car within a town almost never saves time on this route.
- ⛰️ Zermatt breaks the "self-drive" pattern on purpose: it's the one town on this route you can't drive into — build the Täsch parking + shuttle step into your plan, not as an afterthought.
- 🌤️ Geneva's activities are weather-flexible: if Day 6 turns bad, paddleboarding works in light rain and paragliding flights simply move to the next clear slot.
